Creamy Chocolate Fudge
Description
Fudge is a dense, rich confection typically made with sugar, milk or cream, butter and chocolate or other
flavorings.
The base for fudge is boiled until it reaches the soft-ball stage (135 to 140 degrees F), then stirred or beaten
as it cools to minimize the formation of sugar crystals.
Ingredients
- 3 cups white sugar
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter (1.5 sticks)
- 2/3 cup evaporated milk
- 12 oz. semisweet chocolate chips (can substitute other kinds of chips to make different flavors of fudge,
like butterscotch, peanut butter, etc.)
- One 7 oz. jar marshmallow cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- (Optional) Additional extracts like caramel or peppermint
- (Optional) Toppings like toffee bits, crushed candy canes, or Andes mints
- (Optional) 1 cup chopped walnuts

- Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips until melted and mixture is smooth.
- Fold in marshmallow cream and vanilla extract until well combined.
- (Optional) Stir in additional extracts, if desired, for different flavor variations.

- (Optional) Sprinkle with toppings like toffee bits, crushed candy canes, or Andes mints, if desired.
- Let cool at room temperature until set, then cut into squares.
